Zhejiang, China — November 4, 2024 — SolaX Power, formally known as SolaX Power Network Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., has been awarded the prestigious First Prize in the 2024 Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award for Scientific and Technological Progress. This honour, which recognizes the company’s breakthrough project, "High-Efficiency and High-Quality Power Supply Key Technology and Integrated Equipment for Distributed Solar-Storage Systems," underscores SolaX’s leadership and commitment to innovation in the renewable energy sector. The award is jointly administered by the China Machinery Industry Federation and the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and it holds national-level recognition from the Ministry of Science and Technology as the sole comprehensive science and technology award in China’s machinery industry.
SolaX’s award-winning project addresses critical issues faced by distributed solar-storage systems, particularly regarding grid-connection stability and anti-backflow technology. Through the development of an innovative anti-backflow DC/AC converter topology and efficient modulation method, SolaX has achieved precise control over energy backflow, enhancing system stability for a more reliable clean energy supply.
To meet the challenges of multi-unit interconnections, SolaX introduced a new circulation suppression technology for interconnected systems, reducing line impedance discrepancies that impact parallel current sharing. The project achieved circulation rates as low as 0.76% in residential systems and 0.71% in commercial and industrial systems. Additionally, SolaX developed an active damping method to mitigate high-frequency oscillations, resulting in grid-connected current harmonic content below 1.4% for commercial applications. These advancements set new industry standards for operational stability and efficiency in distributed solar-storage systems.
SolaX has launched Asia’s first residential solar-storage integrated unit, designed with key performance features such as precise anti-backflow control, rapid response times, low harmonic distortion, and seamless grid transitions. This device represents a significant step forward in making clean energy accessible and efficient for households and small businesses.
In anticipation of the expanding role of smart grids, SolaX has also introduced a distributed solar-storage system platform based on virtual power plant (VPP) technology. Already in use in China’s first distributed solar demonstration zones, the platform enhances energy dispatching accuracy and flexibility, empowering solar-storage systems to respond dynamically to market demands and grid requirements, thus accelerating the growth of smart energy solutions.
A committee of experts, led by renowned Academician Luo An, evaluated the project and praised its contributions to the industry: “This achievement fills a crucial technology gap within China, reaching internationally advanced levels. The anti-backflow and coordinated power control technology for solar-storage integration stands at the forefront globally.”
SolaX’s mission to drive sustainable energy through technological innovation remains steadfast. Each advancement made by SolaX reinforces its dedication to environmental responsibility and its role in leading the renewable energy sector. Winning this award is more than an accolade; it is a testament to SolaX’s vision of shaping a cleaner, greener future.
